Title says it all. This product has served us as a $40 paper weight / night light and we didn't need either. Tried without batteries using only the wall adapter, tried with batteries and without the wall adapter, tried with only batteries. Tried all of the "troubleshooting" scenarios such as 'No sound: Turn unit on' and 'No sound: Turn volume up'. I would very much like to see the option of 'No sound: Return unit to retailer and purchase a different product.'

My daughter had problems sleeping at night and I bought this sound machine. It's small, but works great. The size makes it great for travel also.

Cannot live without it

We have had this machine since day 1 and CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT it now. It never turns off- during the day we just switch it to the music. And since we live in an area where we lose power relatively often, the battery option is perfect- we actually lost power yesterday during nap time due to weather and she didn't even notice. It goes with us everywhere and has since the beginning. The heartbeat function was the only way we got her to nap when she was a newborn. I highly recommend it!

Total waste of money

We bought this as a last minute thing and didn't have time to shop around. It lasted through one use and never worked again. We tried the "reset" instructions which did absolutely nothing. Tried it with and without batteries, nothing changed. For the price of this product I expected a lot more. I bought a sound machine for $10 at Bed, Bath & Beyond which has worked for years and has caused no problems. I would give this product zero stars if that were an option.

We love the idea of our sound machine and were very happy with ours for the first 6 months. The first sign of it breaking: the light would flicker on the top, and it took us a few times to turn on. Then we couldn't turn off. We had to unplug between uses. Then the cord stopped working and we could only get to work with batteries, but it wouldn't turn off unless we took out batteries. FYI, Batteries don't last through the night.
We have three kids who sleep in the same room, and the white noise was great to help with early morning wakers waking everyone up. But I guess I thought this would last at least 2 yrs....not just 6 mo.

I agree with some of the other reviews. The volume level does not go loud enough, and the little blue light that emits (when the main light is turned off) is still a lot of light. I like the sound options, and mp3 option.

We are not a fan of this sound machine. We loved all of the features on paper, but the actual function is another story. Our son likes a very dark room and even with the night light off it still glows blue around the middle section and it cannot be turned off. It lights up his whole room. We love the sound quality but the volume does not go up nearly high enough. Not even close! It is barely louder than his ceiling fan which is actually a pretty quiet fan. We like using white noise to cover up the traffic sound from the busy street near our home and to drown out any household noise while he naps and sleeps at night. This machine is so quiet it does not cover up a thing. I am so bummed we are stuck with this machine and cannot return it because we threw out the box. The ipod attachment is really cool and sound quality seems fine. It's just the volume that is a serious bummer.

This is great while it worked. I decided to purchase one of these despite multiple reviews that they died after a short time. Mine worked for less than a year and died.
One other thing, the power plug is a bit finicky, and if you have batteries in it will probably be using these without you knowing.

my son (1 year old) sleeps fine at home, but when we are traveling or sleep in a different place- he wakes up a lot at night! this noise machine is a God-send! The first night we used it - he slept the whole night. We used the white noise setting and it was loud enough to drowned out the odd noises in an unfamiliar place. We also love that it runs on batteries- and we use it to play the ipod in the car while traveling. definitely a worthy buy!

Great, for the month it worked

I purchased this before the birth of my second son. I was excited to be able to use it as a night light in the beginning and then use it to play music from my ipod like we did with my first. The blue light is perfect because it does not light up the room but allows for you to check on baby without disturbing anyone(aka sleeping husband). I like the hearbeat tracks and use those when my son seems hard to soothe. The other built in music sounds a little tinny but I expected that and dont plan on using their music anyway.
The problem is it only worked for a month. Last night the light flickered and then the whole thing shut off. I am so bummed because I really loved this product but I dont want to spend another $40 for a replacement if this is going to happen again. I contacted Graco and hope to have an answer on how to replace it soon. I would recommend this product but keep the packaging and receipt on hand just in case.
