We bought this seat when my daughter turned 11 weeks old. She is now 17 months and I don't have a negative thing to say about this seat! Easy to install and uninstall properly, love the recline and durability. It is a heavy seat but that is another reason I love it. I know it is great protection for my child. Our next child, we will be buying this seat as well. Fantastic!!!!

I bought this car seat for my daughter a little over a month ago. I thought it was a bit pricey but thought it would be worth it. I couldn't have been more right! Just about 3 weeks ago I was rear ended by a guy going about 70-75 and I was going 55. I came out with whip lash and a concussion. My Jeep is totaled. My daughter though, completely unharmed! This car seat may be big, or heavy, or hard to get in. They are worth it! Hard to get in normally means it's going to stay once you get it there. The sheriff flat out said it was because the car seat was properly installed and used that she fared so well! It's worth it!

Why is this so well-liked? I find this equipment WAY to difficult to install, and maintain. It is beyond heavy, and collects every single piece of dust, crumb, and who knows what inside the actual mechanism. I almost had to cut the belts twice just to get my baby out. The red button used to release the bottom portion of the harness STICKS! I mean, my power lifter father couldn't open it, and insists I get her a new seat. I spent over $300 for a piece of junk

This has been the most wonderful carseat, the only one that we can put our son in an him not get upset because he is getting buckled in. His back doesn't get sweaty and hot like it was in the regular carrier. I will say its heavy and big, I am glad that I have a Ford Expedition that has enough room for it to be rear facing. But, I know that my son is safe and secure in it and that's what matters most. To buy it all over again, yes I would!

We bought this seat about 10 days ago and I am so glad we did! I've been diagnosed with Carpel Tunnel, trigger finger, and a severe form of tendinitis (all due to caring for my infant) recently and could no longer grasp the handle of the infant seat to get it rotated out of the way when removing him from the seat. So, we installed this in my SUV. After having it in the car for about a week, I had begun to worry that we paid "too much" for a car seat. However, later that day, we were rear-ended with my 4-month old in the car with us! The adult passengers are all bruised and a little sore, but he nearly slept right through the whole ordeal!
Yes, it is heavy...but what do you expect when it has a steel frame? I am more in love with it now than I was when we first bought it, even though the one we bought now needs to be replaced (since it was involved in an accident). Our second base hasn't even beentaken out of the box yet! We initially had trouble locating a second base because Babies R Us has discontinued stocking this car seat (according to the store employee we talked to) and they do not have any separate bases left for sale (again, we were told that they are not available anywhere, but we were able to find them online at three other retailers). The store employee even went as far as to try to force us into buying a different seat! We chose this seat because of the base, weight maximum, and over all "user friendliness" and I would not get any other kind now that I have it!

Best carseat we've ever bought! With the new recommendation of rear facing till 2 years old we were forced to buy a new carseat and chose the all-in-one Smart Seat. It is a great purchase however it is bulky and heavy as are most all-in-ones. We have a Nissan Altima and found it perfect but those who have smaller compact cars this may not be the seat for you if you plan on having others in the backseat.

I have always been happy with the Graco Product lines. I used the Snug Ride infant carrier with both of my children, and before this seat came out I used a Nautilus for my older son. I knew I needed a long term seating solution for my daughter, and since I already had the infant carrier, I looked for something in a convertible knowing my son had outgrown the infant carrier before a year old. He still uses the Nautilus, but it's bulky and hard to transfer from car to car, so he uses a cheap booster no back in other cars that he rides in less frequently.
With this seat, I love that I can install a base in other cars and just leave it, and switch the seat from car to car easily. Which makes it very nice for my mom. I have one base in her car, and one base in my own. On days she has to go pick up my son from preschool, and take the baby with her, I just take the car seat out and switch it to hers without any struggle!
LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I can't say that enough! I wish they had this for my son too, I would have bought it instead of the Nautilus. But since he's older (5) I'm not going to run out and buy another, but if I should have another baby, this will be the only seat I will buy!
ONE, and ONLY ONE drawback or "con" for this seat that I have to mention...
If you drive a smaller compact car, expect to lose 2 seats. As ALL convertible car seats do, this seat takes up an enormous amount of real estate in the rear facing position. This makes the front seat, of say a Honda Civic, uncomfortable, and close to the dashboard and front air bag, rendering that seat useless. This isn't a problem in cars with a roomy(er) back seat, such as a Mazda 6, or a mini van. Consider the vehicle you drive when thinking about this seat. Yes it's convenient, but you're going to be out of space for a year or 2 (depending on how long you RF)
If only there were a way to make the seat compact AND convenient! But I'll take convenience and safety over comfort ANY day!

i love my care seat.. easy to use.. like the fact i can buy additonal bases so i dont have to buy a car seat for two cars. i feel like its very comfortable and not tight fighting.. Love it and would highly recommend.. i have purchase serveal differnt Graco products - quality products and they stand behind all their items.. i have car seats pack and play and stroller.. i would highly recommend products from this company.

Sturdy seat. Easy install. Easy to clean. Good head protection but can still seat out the window. Most leg room for rear facing that I've tried. Do have to push passenger seat up far for rear facing. (Outback) It is hard to pull the harness real snug. The harness is also harder to click close. I hold the button down when I snap it in.

I found the recline function to be far less easy to use than previous Graco seats with this function. The seat is overpriced in my opinion for the lesser quality than previous Graco seats. Overall not impressed.

I have been buying Graco brand for 18 years. That is how old my son will be in May 2013. I feel Graco has been around a long time and that their product is safe and reliable. Also well built! Since the birth of my son I have had two more children and expecting my last one this March. Again everything I buy for my children is the Graco brand. As I was just strolling down the baby isle last week in search for another infant car seat I couldn't believe how many there are to pick from. Very overwhelming! I didnt recognize a lot of the names and the prices were astronomical. Like a magnet I ended up right in front of a Graco. Because I like the way it looked, the safety features, and the price.

We bought this carseat for our LO who is now 2.5 yrs old and loves it! We bought the same carseat for our newborn who is now 6months and everytime we place her in it when she is fussy she quiets right down and goes to sleep. I love the ease of adjusting the recline of the seat and the height of it with one hand. It is a bigger carseat and we have had to adjust our front seats to accomadate them especially when rear facing but definitely worth it for us!

We bought this car seat for when we care for our grandchild. It installed easily. Instructions for install are clear. It adjusts with ease to her growth. So far she is still in reverse recline position since she is under a year, but easily straps in and releases with little fuss. Comfortable padding. Looking forward to see how it grows with her as she grows beyond the rear face stage. Only con is that it rattles when going over bumps without her in the seat.

We purchased this car seat for our first child. It is such a great car seat and I would recommend it for anyone. Our son loves his car seat too. We love the fact that it is for infant to toddler (100 lbs). It has great safety features and is worth every penny spent. The fabric is great and the movable arm rest are great for putting your little one in and taking them out, it makes it so easy. The cup holder is great for bottles for the ride and will be great for a toddler cup. Best car seat on the market!!!

This carseat was purchased for my heart baby. I rear-faced her until she was 2 1/2 and she never complained. She is forward facing now and I love how it reclines to let her nap peacefully.

This car seat was perfect for our family. Even though it is heavy and bulky, if you are not planning on moving it between cars, this may be a very good option. We have a mini van, so space was not a problem. I can see it being too big for a small car. Our child has a physical disability and we found that this car seat gives her more stability and comfort.

Bought this seat for my 7 month old after she out grew her infant seat. We chose this seat because she could stay rear facing longer and my husband and I both loved that it goes up to 100lbs and we wouldn't have to buy another one as she gets older. The seat is big and bulky, but I feel that it would be safe in any crash because it is so big and bulky. Great seat. Plan on getting another when we have more children!

I first bought this car seat in 2010, when it first came out, for my duaghter. Had bought an infant seat and then a convertible one. I saw this one and decided to buy it and try it out because my daughter had out grown her convertible one and I didn't want to keep buying car seats, since this one went up to a 100 lbs. Well she loved the seat and I loved it. When your child is forward facing, you can recline them when they fall asleep so that their head does not fall forward like with other car seats. Plus you can buy an extra base for a second car or a grandparents vehicle and just transfer the seat. Well we had my son in July 2012 and started out with the infant seat we had used with our daughter, which lasted her till she was 10 months. Well at 5 1/2 months my son was out growning it. I decided to buy him this seat because I loved it so much with my daughter and it would be the only car seat that I would ever have to buy for him. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this seat! So do both of my children!!!

My husband and I love this car seat! It is very large but I have no doubt about my sons safety! He loves the recline positiOns when he is sleepy! This is the king of car seats. When our 1 year old son outgrew his infant seat we bought this one because it can still go rear facing but will continue to grow with him. It is totally worth the money invested!
